Vice President of Punjab Muslim Students Federation 1951-52. Visited Karchi and Rawalpindi in a delegation and met Liaqat Ali Khan, the Prime Minister, Sir Zafarullah Khan, FM and Ch. Muhammad Ali, Secretary General.
Appeared as a Leader of Student Federation to represent the view of the youth on parity which was heard patiently by the select committee head by Kh. Nazim ud Din.
Nominated as Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League by its President Pir Pagara (Pir Sibghatullah Shah A-Rashidi) on 22/03/1977
Detained in Kot Lakhpat jail under the Defense of Pakistan Rules on 14/04/1977 on account of taking part in the procession, in Lahore, alongwith Nawabzada Nasarullah in a PNA procession against mass rigging and repressive actions of the government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Elected as Secretary General, in the council meeting of Pakistan Muslim League on 29 November, 1978.
Prepared and announced the Manifesto of PML as Chairman of the manifesto committee on 14 January, 1979 in which commitment was made to follow and implement the vision of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for a liberal and Welfare Muslim State.
Refused to join the Advisory Council set by President, General Zia ul Haq on his invitation and in spite of permission by Pir Pagara, President of the party (Muslim League) through a press statement on 6.1.1978 on the principle stand not to join any office under Martial Law by any party of PNA.
Met the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran on the invitation of Iranian government and participated in various meetings 4-14 Feb, 1982.
Ayatollah Roohullah Khamenei expressed his resolve to continue his fight against forces of Taghoot (oppressors) till justice is done.
After having developed differences with the President Pir Paghara on the support of Non-Party basis elections, issued a statement explaining why non-party basis were not suited for a democratic government in Pakistan because Pakistan was conceived and achieved by a political party, All India Muslim League headed by Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Represented Pakistan at the UN Security Council; September 1965.
